Remove colour coding
If you need to return the document to its original appearance — for example before sharing a clean copy — you can remove all colour coding that was applied by Working Document Helper.
- Switch to the Colour tab in the task pane.
- Click Remove Colour.
Working Document Helper reverses the colour changes:
- Background highlights are removed.
- Font colours are reset to their defaults.
The underlying text formatting (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough) is not removed — only the colour and highlight changes are undone.
When to remove colour
Common scenarios:
- Before sharing — send a clean document without tribunal markup to a party who does not need to see it.
- Before re-applying — if you changed the colour key (for example, switched from yellow to orange for YP amendments), remove the old colours first, then apply the new ones.
- Before printing — some highlight colours do not print well on black-and-white printers.
