Remove colour coding

If you need to return the document to its original appearance — for example before sharing a clean copy — you can remove all colour coding that was applied by Working Document Helper.

  1. Switch to the Colour tab in the task pane.
  2. Click Remove Colour.

Working Document Helper reverses the colour changes:

  • Background highlights are removed.
  • Font colours are reset to their defaults.

The underlying text formatting (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough) is not removed — only the colour and highlight changes are undone.

When to remove colour

Common scenarios:

  • Before sharing — send a clean document without tribunal markup to a party who does not need to see it.
  • Before re-applying — if you changed the colour key (for example, switched from yellow to orange for YP amendments), remove the old colours first, then apply the new ones.
  • Before printing — some highlight colours do not print well on black-and-white printers.
